Rome 2 is purely about steam rolling everything in a ugly map.īecause i installed DeI, and after defeating Rome with the Greeks it gets super boring. Then, because it's different, people complain that the old system was better. Not everyone can appreciate every title, or every mechanic change, but every mechanic change is a direct result of too many people complaining about something from a previous title. The only real difference between an Oda, Takeda, Date, or Shimazu campaign is tiny bonuses that ultimately don't matter. Why did I stop playing Shogun 2? Because playing the same campaign from a different starting province gets old after awhile. I have 1900 in Rome 2, and 1500 in the Warhammer franchise. So many people tout Shogun 2 as the pinncale of the franchise, but ignore the pathing issues, dumb ai, and the fact that everything from the map to unit selection is so dumbed down precisely to give the illusion the ai is smarter (less directions to go, less decisions to screw up).
